Nearest Station: Atherstone Train Station, which is just over 1 mile from the route.
The section: This section provides a real rural feel with very few vehicles on the country roads. You can glide down through the lanes with views of cattle, hedgerows and pastures. Kingsbury Water Park has a number of good amenities such as a tearoom, bike hire and toilets. If you prefer, the Dog and Doublet public house, that has cycle racks along the canal towpath, is a short ride along the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal.
The terrain: Perfect start, as this section is incredibly flat with some gentle downhill terrain, yet beautifully picturesque. There are two sections of single track lanes through Hipsley Lane and further along through Hurley, before you reach Knowle Hill. As you enter Kingsbury Water Park you will need to dismount your bike to enter through a gate.
