Parking in Council Car Parks
Blue Badge holders may park for up to 3 hours without charge in any of North Warwickshire Borough Council’s car parks which charge for parking.
If you wish to stay longer than 3 hours, charges apply which are displayed on the tariff board at each car park.
Designated easy access parking bays are available in the majority of car parks, but if they are full then you may park in any other car parking bay.
Parking On-Street
Since 1 February 2022, Warwickshire County Council is responsible for on-street parking services across North Warwickshire. For more information please visit the Warwickshire County Council website or call 01926 410410.
Guidance, rights and responsibilities
The blue badge is issued to a person, not a vehicle and the badge holder must be in the vehicle when it is being used.
The only time that someone else may use the badge, without the holder being in the vehicle, is if they are dropping off or picking up the badge holder.
Blue Badge Misuse
Section 94 of the Traffic Management Act 2004 gives authorised officers powers to inspect Blue Disabled Badges. Authorised officers can be police officers or a Civil Enforcement Officer.
Disabled Badges can only be used when the badge holder is in the vehicle. The only exception is if someone else is dropping off or picking up the badge holder. Misuse of a Blue Badge is a serious offence.
Offences include:
- The badge holder deliberately misuses their Blue Badge
- A person other than the badge holder misuses the Blue Badge
- A person uses a stolen or fraudulently altered badge or a fraudulently created document designed to look like a badge
