The Council is aware of the forecast for high winds on Friday and we share the public’s concerns about the impact this may have on Britannia Mill in Atherstone.
We have advised the owners that they need to review the work they carried out a few weeks ago and ensure the building is secure enough to withstand this week’s storm. We will, of course, step in if this does not happen, and we are told the Owner’s demolition firm is on notice to attend.
There is a proposal for hoardings at the site which could see the road re-open. That is with Warwickshire County Council Highways at the moment for approval.
