The Council has moved a step closer towards achieving its aspiration for improvements to the provision of leisure services across the Borough.
At the Community and Environment Board meeting on Wednesday 27 November 2024, Councillors were presented with a report that looked at the feasibility and affordability of providing new leisure facilities in Atherstone and Polesworth. The Board agreed to proceed to the next stage of the project which will include the design of a replacement for Atherstone Leisure Complex and to continue the development of the business case for a new facility in Polesworth.
The Council will also be engaging with external operators to explore what opportunities may exist from delivering its current operational services under new management arrangements.
During this phase there are no changes to the existing service or users of the any of the NWBC Leisure Facilities.
Chair of Community and Environment Board, Margaret Bell said:
“This continues to be a really exciting time for the Council, as we work towards providing new leisure facilities for the residents of North Warwickshire”.
