Poppy

Have you seen our light up poppy above Old Bank House, Long Street, Atherstone?

The poppy is a symbol that honours the sacrifices of soldiers, especially from World War I. It represents the bloodshed of those who fought and died in battles.

The red poppy became meaningful after the poem "In Flanders Fields" was published, which talks about poppies growing on battlefields where soldiers were buried.

North Warwickshire remembers.
