Warwickshire County Council are making the weight limit order for Coton Bridge permanent.
Following on from the conclusion of the Experimental Order to apply exemptions to the weight limit on the Coton Bridge at Nether Whitacre, Warwickshire County Council are making the order permanent.
Scheme Overview
Coton Bridge on Coton Road between Marston and Whitacre Heath has been subject to an 18 tonne weight limit order since 2022. In May 2023 Warwickshire County Council made an experimental order that provided exemptions for unladen vehicles with written authority from the County Council. This order which is due to conclude on the 9th November 2024 is to be made permanent.
To reduce the volume of HGV traffic travelling through the village of Whitacre Heath, Warwickshire County Council has now made a permanent Weight Restriction Order, the effect of which will be to reproduce and continue in force indefinitely the provisions of the Experimental Order.
The Order comes into effect on 10th November 2024.
