Spare bedrooms reductions
From 1st April 2013, the Government has reduced the amount of Housing Benefit paid to working age tenants who have spare bedrooms in their homes. This will apply to all Council and Housing Association tenants.
For the first spare bedroom, your housing benefit will be cut by 14% and 25% for two or more spare bedrooms.
What is working age?
Working age is somebody has not yet reached Pension Age. You can calculate when you will reach State Pension age here;
