The Local List of Heritage Assets
The Borough Council are seeking nominations from the public in to add to the local list of heritage assets.
The list will be used to identify local heritage assets and help us make robust planning decisions.
Local heritage assets on the register can include:
- Buildings and structures
- Parks and gardens
- Archaeological sites
- Features within a townscape or landscape/important views or settings
How to nominate a local heritage asset
If you think a site or building should be on the register due to its historic, architectural, artistic or archaeological interest and is not already protected, you can ask us to assess it.
To do this, please complete the Local List Nomination Form and return to us (see contact details below) with details about the site.
Guidance is available and gives you step by step help on filling in the form and also explains what local listing is all about
Listed buildings, scheduled monuments, registered parks and gardens and registered battlefields do not qualify for local listing as their level of protection as nationally designated assets is already known and assessed. However, assets inside conservation areas can be nominated for addition to the local list.
