Details of the Home Instead Memory Café being held every Wednesday
Hosted From The Memorial Hall, Atherstone Leisure Complex
12 Long Street, Atherstone CV9 1AX
Every Wednesday 10:30 am -12:30 pm
Every week we will offer members different activities such as painting, singing and dancing to name a few. We will have regular Love To Move sessions which are specially designed by the British Gymnastics Foundation to get older people moving and functioning better by carefully integrating the use of gymnastic foundation skills, cognitive stimulation therapy and social interaction activities. The British Gymnastics Foundation began working with experts in Japan in 2014 who deliver their own state-funded dementia-friendly gymnastics programme. Our memory café coordinators have completed the British Gymnastics Foundation's intensive Love To Move training and are certified instructors.
Bilaterally asymmetrical movement patterns encourage the left side and right side of the brain to process information independently, improving cognitive function, coordination and the ability to carry out activities of daily living more independently.
Above all, the programme is fun!
We will also be supported by organisations and healthcare professionals regularly. See the link below for more details.
